Prepare for Periodic Inspections

MVP take pride in keeping owners up-to-date on the condition of their property. In order to do this, we visit the home for an in-person visual inspection – usually twice per year. Photos will be taken during the inspections that will never be used publicly – only shared with homeowners (and occasionally vendors if owners decide to do maintenance).

Washington State Law allows full access to the property with 48-hour notice. We usually send mailed notices out 1-2 weeks early, plus email and text notifications – so you are not surprised by the visit.

Our goal is to be as quick and friendly as possible. You are welcome to be present, but if your schedule isn’t flexible, you do not need to attend. If you are unable to attend, please reach out to MVP to report any potential maintenance issues so we can be sure to check it out while on site.

Some maintenance items are tenant responsibilities (see your lease for details). We recommend you test and change smoke/co detector batteries and change your furnace filter prior to the inspection, to avoid any charges.

Remember to clear away any objects that might be blocking items, such as the electrical box, water heater, furnace, plumbing lines, doorways. Also disarm any alarms for that day, crate animals that need to be secured, and reach out with any concerns.

We appreciate working together with you in order to take care of the property!
